Are single men really that annoying?
Browsing through the ads her, as well as those on other sites,
I've noticed a common yet somewhat disturbing theme.
Ad after ad, from single women, couples, groups, etc. quite
ofter have several lines dedicated to how much single guys
annoy them; how much single guys can go screw themselves;
how they hate to hear from single guys.
Being a single guy, that is discouraging. After all, we're
all on here for a similar reason-- we're horny and want
to meet new people (the exception being those webcam models
just trolling for new subscribers/suckers). But a little
thinking, and my own personal experience, is making me
see why this is so prevalent.
What I've noticed is that most people don't read
the ads. Maybe just the headline, or a glance at the pictures
and people start typing a response. If one were to read 95%
of all the ads, the preferences should be very clear. Couples
looking only for couples or single women, girls for girls
or couples, guys for girls, guys for guys. Or, even specific
sex acts, i.e. no anal, oral, pissing, S&M, etc. But people
just don't take the time to read the details.
I can see how that could get annoying, especially if your
inbox is full every day (I don't have that problem darnit!).
What I have had is gay or bi guys trying to contact me. Clearly,
in several places, my ad states that I'm only here for
girls or possibly couples.
Do they think that they can convert us? Do they think that
they are so great that no matter what we are looking for or
not looking for, they should become the top of that list?
Maybe if we overlook a few details then we'll reply?
Details like a dick?!
This is not a letter just to complain. In fact, I am just hoping
that some of the ads I've replied to didn't think
the same thing about me. What I'm writing this article
for is to give a little advice.
Guys, if you really want to find people, at least give them
the courtesy of reading their whole profile. C'mon,
how much extra time does that take? Please don't think
that you are so great that you can convert them.
To the people that get these annoying ads, here's a
few tips. First, if possible, send a "no thanks"
reply before blocking them. That may give them a hint to
stop bugging other people. Just blocking them, closing
your profile, or deleting the message does nothing to alleviate
the problem, and you'll probably get another message
from them if they aren't blocked.
There should be a free button on Adult FriendFinder that automatically
sends them a "not interested" message. I'll
have to suggest that and encourage you all to do the same.
If we all work together, maybe we can resolve the problem,
and we can save a few lines on our ads (those saying how pitiful
single guys are). Maybe we can all start to be a little nicer.
After all, we are all potential fuck partners-- we should
start off by being nice to each other.
