I fully understand! Mine was not a marriage, rather five
years with the absolute love of my life. Only, after falling
deeply in love with her, did I discover she is an active alcoholic
and a manic-depressive. She hid them both quite well for
many months.
So, like your situation, mine is hopeless, as well. I have
moved on, from a physical standpoint and am very diligently
working on the emotional part, which is much tougher. She
wouldn't even consider therapy and I have begun that,
myself. I will consider anything that helps! My codependency
is being met, head-on and dealt with. Her problems are exactly
that now, hers! Not mine!
You have to let your wife take ownership of her emotional
condition and put as much distance between you and her as
possible, and quickly.
Find the happiness within yourself, not from her.
